When Terry Bolton first visited Anchorage on vacation in 1983, he called home to California and asked his wife to send him his toolbox and to sell their house, because "I'm not coming back." California's loss was Anchorage's gain. Terry soon met Larry Partusch and together they started Northern Sheet Metal (NSM) in 1987, which expanded Partusch Plumbing to a full-service heating/ventilation/air and plumbing operation.
Terry grew up in the business. His father owned a forced air/ventilation/plumbing business in the Midwest where Terry learned the technical side of the business and where he was also instilled with the Midwest work ethic: "Do top quality work for your customers from designing well-balanced systems to assuring quality-looking finished installations," Terry explained.
At Northern Sheet Metal, Terry manages about a dozen shop and field employees. Pride of workmanship and service are Terry's top priorities. "I'm proud that we can fabricate anything we need in our shop. We can install any system we carry and we can troubleshoot equipment. What also sets us apart is our knowledge and longevity. This is a rarity in our industry." Terry and his crew deal with HRVs, HVACs, air exchange systems – duct work and new forced air and ventilation systems including fans and range exhausts. "I direct crews and materials, bidding plans, go to job sites to lay out systems and to make decisions. If there's a problem, which is very rare, I'll resolve it to the customer's satisfaction."
Like Partusch Plumbing, Northern Sheet Metal makes it a priority to give back to the Anchorage community. Terry and NSM have completed over 20 projects for Habitat for Humanity, and Northern Sheet Metal and Partusch Plumbing are committed to generously donating time and money on many youth sports and other charitable organizations.
On weekends, Terry is an avid pleasure boater and likes to fish and ski. He has 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
