MIKE COOKE, MANAGER/VP

"I strive each day to consistently maintain our policies of fair bidding and pricing, honesty and top-notch work."

Partusch Plumbing is proud to have Mike Cooke as an integral and important part of our team. We owe a big part of our success to his skilled management, hard work and outstanding work ethic.

Mike Cooke’s mission as Manager and VP at Partusch Plumbing is to uphold our high standards. "I’ve been with Partusch for 15 years, Mike said. “I strive each day to consistently maintain our policies of fair bidding and pricing, honesty and top-notch work. We are an upfront company." Mike adds, "I have great friends in the trade and enjoy the respect of my peers. In my 36 years in the plumbing trade, I’m proud of that respect and I’m proud to manage Partusch Plumbing."

Mike’s day begins early at Partusch, between 6:00-7:00 a.m. He arrives early to prepare for the phones which begin ringing after 7:00 a.m. Mike manages the plumbing crews and general operations for Partusch. He prepares a complex job schedule months ahead. He orders all materials. He bids jobs for new construction. He arranges training for his crews around the country. He oversees the schedules and training of about 25 employees.

Mike is Partusch Plumbing’s expert on Radiant, Snowmelt and hot water baseboard systems. He designs all systems with a high standard. “I want the finished product to be a piece of art,” Mike said.

We have Mike’s younger brother to thank for his coming to Alaska in July, 1983. After a short stay, Mike realized that he wouldn’t have to scrape to make a good living here. “My skills were in demand,” Mike said. Along with Mike’s skills, his work ethic makes him a stand-out. “Each day I do what I can to help make Partusch Plumbing the healthiest and best company I can. As long as I can maintain the high standards at Partusch, I’ll be here.”

One of the ways in which Mike maintains the high standards at Partusch is through the policy of 'stepping up” existing employees into positions of higher responsibility. “If an employee is self-motivated, is willing to review manuals and the like on their own time and has an aptitude and is suited to the work, I’ll move them up,” Mike said. The “step-up” policy is effective in maintaining employee tenure and loyalty. “We are extremely proud of our employees,” Mike said. “They are dedicated to giving outstanding customer service and to doing top quality work.”

In his off time, Mike bowls in a winter league and likes to go pleasure boating with Terry Bolton, his cousin. Terry manages Northern Sheet Metal.
